Context

Hotel Mediterráneo is a contemporary seafront hotel resolved as a series of stepped white volumes descending a pine slope down to a cove. Horizontal slabs and planted terraces break up the massing and keep the building low against the sea, while limestone plinths and retaining walls anchor it to the ground. Arrival happens under a stone portico, among Mediterranean planting.

Visual Direction

Inside, a pale warm palette — travertine, walnut, raw textiles — leaves the water in the lead. The lobby opens through from side to side onto the pool and the beach; the restaurant extends over the rock behind full-height sliding openings, and the suites repeat the same move at domestic scale: bed, lounge, terrace and sea in one continuous plane. The whole project is built on the idea that the sea should be present from anywhere in the hotel.
